A while back I bought a 5.9 Magnum engine from a local guy here. What was the lift & duration spec's on the stock cam? Needed for comparision purposes. Also I have a Profesional products intake for a Magnum along with some nice headers. If I where to rebuld it back to stock specs & install these would I pick up much? Say 30 HP at least? Trying to stay with the stock cam if I can. Its a budget build.

The 360 magnum cams are small, VERY small, like 390 lift small , if your planning on having any nice gain, send it out to Bullet cams for a re-grind, Tim is by far the best, he did mine for 150.00, he stretched it to the limit, .477,.477-.218,.218 @50, & set it up on a 112, its still a very mild & wimpy cam, but it has good torgue, i can only get 5100 out of it, but i'm running the prof.products intake, that could be some of the limiting factor, i wouldn't even dream of running this cam in stock form , unless your wanting a pull rig with high gears.

.410 for the 5.9, .430 for the 5.2

You can also buy 1.7 rockers which whill increase the lift and duration somewhat.

.430 + 1.7 = .460

No its a 100 % strip car. I just was hoping to use the stock cam for now & upgrade later. But I dont want to run slower than my current 318. These engines pull decent in those big heavy Rams so I was hoping in my 3200 pound car (with driver) it would have the torque to get a little et improvement.

Is that .410 at 1.5 or 1.6?

.410 lift is with stock 1.6 magnum rockers.

Stock magnum is 1.6, LA is 1.5

A good cam/manifold/header setup will really make a 360 mag long block come alive, you can gain 125-150hp over stock depending on how big of a cam you run.

I warmed up a 318 mag like that and picked up 80hp at the wheels, it was a mild truck motor that still pulled 17-18" of vac at idle - I had a 206@.050 cam in it.
