Hi All - A quick (hopefully) easy question for you.

We are in the process of re-assembling a 70 Challenger R/T project that a mate of mine has had for several years. Paint etc all done and now we're getting into the interior. As is usual with a lot of these things we're having a bit of trouble making sure we have the correct parts for re-assembly.

Cutting to the chase, about 2 years ago we got a reco dash pad through AZ Nick on this site. The problem is that the AC Vents dont line up with the vent holes in the dash pad (yes we definately ordered an A/C one). The holes in the dash are pretty much symetrical and the same size as each other, however, the vent tubes themselves are not symetrical (one is bigger (longer) than the other) and therefore dont line up. On checking e-bay it appears we have the correct vent tubes - like this one Ebay Link

Are we missing something here? It looks like there should be something in the dash itself to attach to the tubes (like an air grille).

All help appreciated!

A pic of the pad showing the vent locations would help.

It don't matter, bolt the defrost ducting to the cowel and the dash pad will cover it up. You will never notice.

As you can see from the above, the vents dont line up to the holes in the dash pad. Anyone got any clue as to what's wrong here?

Nope they don't bolt to the dash pad, they bolt to the cowel. You will be fine.

Just had a look at Alaskan TA's Hamtramck links and it shows it pretty clearly now that you mention it!

I'll have another look during the week let you know if we have any more drama's!

(Certainly different to Aussie Cars!!!)

Cheers for your help!
