OK, There are two 68 hoods, early to mid and mid to late. The skins are the same, it's the under structure that differs. All 68 hoods that I have ever seen even into the last days of production are soild under the bolt in insert. 69's had four areas cut out under the insert for the air grabber option. Here's a early to mid 68 hood

Is it me or does that look strange, it is an optical illusion from the angle in which you took the picture?
Looks fine to me. Also from the pic's I've seen of the resto, there's NO problem there!
