Just got a new Sunpro Super TachIII installed it today. Four wires straight forward easy hookup but it does not work. When i start the car tach reads 2500 and when you rev the engine tach wont go past 4000. those readings are inaccurate. Im running a Mallory 6AL ignition. Of course their tech line is closed. Am I overlooking something? Wires are black=grounnd white=lights red=hot w/ign on green=tach wire on ign box

You may need an 8920 adapter, has something to do with the voltage.

You might find help here:

Do you have it set to 8 cyl? If it is on 4 or 6 cyl it will also do that. The setting is on the back of tach.
