I just got this 70 Challenger Dash core and it has a paper tag and inspectors mark(?) on the underside of the dash above the glove box. The dash is really trashed but it is a '70 core. Anyone seen this or have and further info on it?

Hi Greg,
Those labels were used to flag the dash as being complete and ready for shipment. I have a few of these and the inspector either signed their initials, scribbled an X (check mark) next to, or on the label. Here is another example.

I suspected that was the case, but wanted to be sure. Thanks for the info.

I found the same tag on my '70 Challenger dash, and I chased down the history of Davidson, hoping that drawings or tooling might still exist to make the dash pads.

Turns out that Davidson was purchased by a company that was bought and sold a few times, before being bought by Collins & Aikman. C&A are still in business, but have had some financial difficulties lately, like every automotive supplier. I've not been able to determine if any records are left of these dash pads, but I'm still hoping!
