Ok, as some of you know, I broke my 727 tail housing at the Nats.
My 2nd run on Friday. Wanted to run the pro class. But after the car broke I just wanted
to fix it then cruise around town till I could fix the car right. So, off to the swap meet to get the parts to fix the trans. Fixed and had a blast just watching everyone else.

Some history:
1971 Challenger R/T
512 ci with 6 Pack
12.5:1 ported 906’s Dwayne Porter did my heads. good job
Comp flat with 1:6 rockers
about 578 lift
Dynamics 9.5” converter about 4100 their good one
Fairly stock 727, does have manual forward VB
5 disc front drum and 4 disc back drum
Just installed Factory Dana 60 3:55’s
Drag radials
New drive shaft although I think it’s to long. Will get cut shorter.

Now my ???s

I am going to pull the trans and go through.
What updated parts would you guys install?

I know that I will be installing the bolt in sprag.

clutches
steels
bands
springs in the drum apply rings (should I use 12)
planetarys I have the 4 geared ones now

governor. hmm should I remove this and how to do?

the car has run 11:38s @ 119
I try to run right around 11:60 so I don’t have to alter the car.

thanks for your input.

when you say bolt in sprag do you mean the A+A ultimate or the Coan Super sprags ? If not a normal bolt in sprag is a WASTE of money unless you damaged the current sprag in the trans by spinning the outer race , which I don't think you did if you fixed it and drove it for the rest of the weekend .

there is a lot you can do beef up and build a nice 727
check out A&A's catalog
all depends on how much you want to spend?
I personally like the griner valve bodies
I would definitely upgrade the front drum with a billet steel drum
