Thanks for posting your album.

You mean these cars were driven? On the steet? Long distace? I cant believe it ! Those pictures cant be real, where are the vevet ropes? Where are the cars on hoists so people can argue over paint marks and the correct clocking of the bolts? Can you enlarge the pics so we can verify all the date codes?? KIDDING, KIDDING,RELAX PEOPLE! Does anyone remember the black Superbird with full body custom flame paint? It was at Chelsea in 82 or 83 and it was in at least one magazine (Cars?)

We chatted with him while we were waiting to get into Milan. Very nice man. Like I said, those were the days!

Claudia, Indy '84 Some of you have seen this one before. I was not there, but the story I was told was that dad (then about 64) flagged her down off a golf cart, and she was happy to oblige for pics.

XS29 do you have any pictures at the drag strip in Milan or St.Louis. That is were my car spent all its time. At the Chrysler Proving Grounds I just left it on the trailer.

I cought the tail end of the 85 or 86 when they were held here in MI in Ann Arbor IIRC. I attended my 1st Nat's in Columbus in 87. Didn't miss it for many years.

I have located about 150 pictures so far from what I am fairly certain was the 1985 Mopar Nats in Ann Arbor (Chelsea/Milan). So far all of them are from the Chrysler Proving Grounds or various parking lots, none so far from Milan. From what I recall, 1985 was the final year at the Chrysler Proving Grounds for the Mopar Nats during the 1980s...

IIRC, it was:

1981 CCCC - Chelsea, MI
1982 CCCC - St Louis, MO
1983 Mopar Nats - Chelsea, MI
1984 Mopar Nats - Indy, IN
1985 Mopar Nats - Ann Arbor, MI (Chelsea, Milan)
1986-89 Mopar Nats - Columbus, OH

Great pics dc426! I have located one of my Indy '84 albums and will post scans at some point... lots of wing cars Doug!

First of three pics... Superbird entering the Chrysler Proving Grounds.

Scan 2 of 3 - Being followed by a Charger 500 and a few other Mopar... the license plate on the C500 was "NO WING"... sounds familiar...

dc426, many thanks for posting your pictures of the 84 Indy meet. That was the first Nats that I attended, travelling from England especially for the event and going with my friends from London, Ontario, Canada in a Ramcharger towing a 68 Roadrunner. I remember that up until that time it was the hottest place I had ever been, and being amazed at how large the Indy track actually is (how did those Chipmunks get on the golf course?). At the time I was member of MMC and DSAC, and also remember chatting with Monroe who was extremely pleasant and seeing Claudia in all her glory! I bought a really clean 69 Coronet R/T there (less engine and box) for $600, which was all the money I had left. Fortunately I won a long distance award of a Auto trans rebuild kit which one of my buddies gave me 30 bucks for, so that allowed me to eat. I still own the Coronet, by the way.

This looks like Saturday morning, 1985. I remember waiting in that line to get into the PG.
