I recently went from a SB 360 to a BB 440 in my Coronet. I know i have change my slip yoke to a 7290 no question with the new 727. My question in the rear is i would like to update to a 7290 yoke at the rear but my driveshaft is 7260 (2 1/8). Has anyone ever used the mancini conversion u joint kit,and is it strong? and change my rear yoke to 7290. Or would it be ok to stay 7260 in the rear. My engine dynoed 387hp and 430 ft lbs torque. What do ya'll think.

Can you just find a 727 slip yoke with the 7260 joint? I know Challengers and 340 dusters had them.
I take it your car had a 904? Is the shaft going to be to long?

Just asking to make sure what you have!

Unles you are going to be putting out a lot of power you don't need the larger joints and yokes. For regular driving and light drag useage you will be fine with the smaller joint. The vast majority of the cars and even the 4X4 1/2 ton trucks used the smaller joints. You will however have to shorten the drive shaft from a 904 and get a 727 yoke.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

Why do you feel that you need a 7290 slip yoke? Are you running a lot of power??? Like I said before most had the 7260 joints on both ends. I know a lot of 12 second and even 11 second cars running with the 7260 joints with no problems.

the 7260 yoke that is on my old driveshaft isn't big enough to slide over the shaft on the 727 that i have now.

What you have is thew yoke for the 904 and a 904 has a smaller output shaft than the 727 output shaft. The 7260 yoke for the 727 will fit right into your transmission. Fact being it is the most common 727 yoke. Just about any yoke from a 727 will be that yoke and not the larger one.
