Ok Mopar guys, the A833 with liberty treated proshifted, etc, will not do...I want to bang the gears fast...Here the sticky part.....its an original 70 RT/SE 383 stick car....former stocker, going to be again, but I don't want to cut much if any on the floor.....# matching block and tranny safely tucked away.

Anyone have an idea on which tranny requires less alteration?

Thanks

I know a guy that was able to put a Jerico in his B-body without cutting the car up. The tranny fits but normally you'll do some cutting to get the V-gate shifter in. He was able to fabricate a mount and install a Hurst shifter in his.

I cut my car but I saved the pieces and I can put it back to original if I ever decide to.

Oh, and you'll need to modify the crossmember so you could buy one and save the original.

How much power?

You could try a Keisler 5-speed based on the Tremec TKO-600 which should fit without any modifications. Plus you get an overdrive gear for highway cruising.

Interesting post as I plan on doing this to my Challenger also. G-Force, Jerico or Liberty? Haven't decided yet on which one for sure.
