68bb OP super street 6 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 300 Mass	Hello All new brakes in the rear of my 70 dart last winter. Now since then I hear rattling from back there. With car parked if I thump either rear wheel with my fist I hear the rattle also so I assume its something in the rear brakes. Have not had a chance to pull the wheels and drum yet. Wondering if there are any common causes? thanks

Sometimes the spring that holds the shoe to the backing plate will pop off if it's not seated properly, easy to tell that , look at the backing plate and see if the pin for it is missing or not seated flat against the plate.

I think you misunderstood what John said, you don't have to pull wheels to check for what John said. Gonna have to pull wheels either way to repair them.

I also just recently had to do a brake job on my Dakota...it's a rear disc set up, but the parking brake is a shoe in hat design...the lining for the parking brake came off, and was making a clicking noise inside the rotor. lots of things to check that COULD be it...only way to find out for sure is to pull the wheel and drum Photobucket sucks
