What is the best way to flush out a converter. I found metal shavings in the fluid.

Thanks
Butch

Send it out to get cut open.
It's the only way to properly clean it

Some of the better trans shop will have a automated converter flushing machine Be prepared to pay $30.00+ for it, call all of them that you can ask about that and the price I just went thruogh that, converter broke the thrust bearing race and ended up making a lot of metal and noise, it was not repairable. I thought it was the trans so I switch the converter into the back up trans you might want to have it cut open by a competent shop and have them(watch if you can ) inspect it thoroughly

Thats funny, I called a shop around here about doing that and they were confused about the whole process, I didnt take my converter there by the way.
