I found a guy that is selling a set of Centerline Auto Drags. They are the correct offset for my Dart and appear to be in pretty good shape. Here are a couple of pictures he sent.

I really like the big and little look, and the Centerlines will fit perfectly with the theme of my car. My only hesitation about buying them is the width of the front wheels. I wasn't planning on running a wide tire anyway, but what tire can I run that will fit on a 3.5 wheel and still be safe on the street? I know guys run VW tires, 165/15's I think, but am having a hard time finding much in that size on the web.

This is a weekend warrior type car used mainly for cruize in's and going to car shows, with an occasional trip to the strip.

What does everyone think? Thanks!

I've been running these 15" x 3 1/2" Weld Pro Stars on the street for 17 years. Just had one of them straightened. I had 15" x 3 1/2" Centerline Auto Drags before that.
165/15 radials are what I'm running. Can't remember the brand but got them at Discount Tire.

I have ran them for years on the street with no problems. I also run a 135/15 tire. I love the big and little look too...Phill

I ran 15x3.5" Auto Drags on the front of my '68 Valiant back in the late 80's / early 90's. It was my only car at the time, so it was driven daily year round. Overall, I did not have any problems, but I will say that you need to be careful making turns on wet asphalt roads. You might have the wheels pointed in the right direction, but the car could keep going straight if you were going too fast or not paying attention. Other than that, it was great.

I have not had to buy 165/15 tires in a long time, but I still see guys running them around town on their cars. I actually saw one car that was running BFG Radial T/A's in a size very similar to the 165's.

As long as you are not doing any street racing you are fine.. I think the VW tires "165/80 are only rated to 80 mph....

I ran them for many years with no problems..

All you need to know is the load index for the tire. The ones on the old cuda were a 73, good for 800lbs a piece. The car wieghed 3050lbs. They were also speed rated to 130 mph for over two hours of straight use to get that rating....

I've run those on a b-body. They certainly aren't a "handling" or "braking" wheel/tire combo. I stepped up to a 5" wide rim - has the same appearance as the 3-1/2 but gives the tire a bit more width between the beads to minimize roll.

Most of the performance tire companies make "front runners" for those wheels.

Currently using a 15X7 centerline wheel with 205-15s the car will handle better. Those tiny wheels and tires belong on a VW the tires are too small for the load carried in the front

I've always thought the dinky tires on the front look ridiculous, but isn't emergency braking with those small tires sketchy at best? I drive carefully when I'm in my old car but other drivers can still be idiots...
