The latest from the Bigelow Racing stable. First time to the track with my Duster.
Off the trailer: 18.5 lbs in the slicks shifting at 5500 rpm 1.817 60' 8.227 1/8 e.t. 84.33 1/8 mph 12.772 1/4 e.t. 106.22 1/4 mph
Best 1/4 mile of the day: 18 lbs in the slicks shifting at 6100 1.79 60' 8.133 1/8 e.t. 85.35 1/8 mph 12.643 1/4 e.t. 107.44 1/4 mph
Best 1/8 mile time and first round of elim. 1.773 60' 8.083 1/8 e.t. 85.58 1/8 mph Broke out with a 8.19 dial
Combo: Stock stroke 1971 340. .040 over O.E.M replacement pistons, 10.5:1 compression, rebuilt J heads (2.02 intakes and light port clean up), Victor 340 intake, 750 Holley with Proform center section, Comp Xtreme Energy XS282S cam, 1.6 ratio roller rockers, 3500 stall PTC converter, 8 3/4 axle with 3.91's. The car is a 1973 Duster. I estimate the race weight at 3400 lbs.
I was trapping at about 5800 rpm. My cam should work to 6500. Didn't adjust any timing, I am pretty sure my engine builder set it at only 28 degrees. Made a total of 8 runs including two buy backs in eliminations. Didn't really mess with much just wanted to see if the car would be consistent. There was about a .1 to .15 difference from lane to lane during eliminations. Ran my 8.08 then 8.214 and a 8.232 both at 85.19 mph in the other lane. I will get back on a Saturday when they only run test 'n' tune and mess with timing, shift points, and what ever else. I don't have any digital video of the car but do have some pics I can post later.
Edit: First run I launched the car at 1500 rpm. Launched at 2000 rpm the rest of the day. Foot break, by the way.

Sounds good ...... Did you see any animals up on the big-end ? A Bud of mine some years back almost ran off into-the-weeds avoiding a DEER just past the traps !! He was lucky he had his RV with him and some Xtra clothes .. he had to change his SHORTS after that one.

Nice job,Ryan! Nice pics too! Looks like the front-end is coming up nicely on the launch! What shocks are you using? Calvert's? Lapeer for T&T sounds good...let me know when you're going! Thanks! RandyB
Yes, I am using Calverts. I really like them. The tower lane really started to go away during eliminations. If you look closely at the last 4 or five pics, you can see the tires wrinkled, smooth, then wrinkled again. That was the third round of eliminations and I went red.
