Small blocks in the mid 60's were red. I don't know when they started being red or when they went to blue. Also, trucks could have been a different animal altogether.

Well, I sure don't know, but FWIW, there's a 62 Dodge truck on ebay right now, looking pretty much original/unrestored, that has what appears to be either a blue or turquoise 318 engine.

My mom had a 61 Plymouth with a poly 318. Original color on it was red.

Red. If I remember correctly 69 was the first year of Turquoise Blue. My 68/340 was factory Red when assembled. Then, painted Blue and was installed in a 69 Barracuda.

My 1957 301 poly (earlier smaller cube version of the 318) is factory silver. They look nice in silver!

Yeah, my 1956 277 (an even smaller cube version of the 318) is also silver, as were most Mopar engines until about 1959 or so - at least in cars.

says 318 poly truck engines were turquoise from 1961 through 1965; red after that. I'll bet that's right . . . .

The doc posted above & the ebay link both indicate the TRUCK poly should be turquoise.
