Changed a pan gasket on a 94 Dodge Caravan I didn't measure the fluid and the owner manual doesn't state the trans capacity. I already dumped the fluid in my bulk barrel. Will dextron III be ok to use. The van has probably approx 30-40 thousand miles on a trans rebuild.

thanks

Mitchell says 9.1qts for overhaul, and 4qts for service. And dex III should be fine.

I'd get 6 qts because you never know. It won't go bad on the shelf.

YOU MUST USE ATF + !!

you will be rebuilding it again if you don't.

They guys that did the fluid and filter on my 99 where blowing the air gun inside the differential while waiting for the silicone on the pan to dry.

I asked what's up with that?

They explained it will drip all day long without this move. With the air shot up in there. It gives them a few seconds of no dripping to slip the pan back in place without getting fluid on the silicone.

If you don't get an answer by tomorrow. I can ask them how much fluid a Caravan takes. Is it a 604 trans?
