Had a 1050 domie on a 440 , went up 10 jet sizes from stock (84 to 94 with pri pv) & eventually managed to get some colour on those plugs.............the same 1050 now sits on top of the 605" , jetting is now as it was out the box (84) , i realise the 1050 was tooooo big for the 440" , maybe the 1050 is too small for the 605"? , although full throttle shows manifold vac to be around .8/1. hg , increasing jet size from 84 with Ppv has the 605" running pretty fat , this tells me velocity is pretty high through booster venturi..........have you thought about the dommie 750 cfm?
I started with a 750 went to a 850 then 950 and finally the 1050... went faster and quicker with each size I went up.... if I had a 1150 I would be trying it

A question should be asked.... will you be foot braking or trans brake... foot brake will want a smaller carb for a faster signal/response

I built a 418 C.I. pump gas steet motor( 4.00 stroke) with ported W2 heads several years back(9second Phils motor)that motor had a big solid lifter NASCAR type cam in it with the Mopar single four barrel Victor manifold. I dyno tested that and I tried two different BG 850 CFM carbs, a 850 Speed Demon and a 850 Mighty Demon with annular boosters, I used stock jetting on both carbs, I also tried a 1050 CFM Holley 9375 carb(with stock jetting) on a tapered adapter. The 1050 made five HP more at peak power but lost it below 4500 RPM, the Speed Demon made five more HP than the Mighty Demon did Take that for what it is worth, a all out race motor will always want more air than a street strip motor will Besides Phil was going to squeeze that motor so the carb size was not the most important thing on the construction, driveability and relablility was
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
