Although its a bit late to ask as they should be here tomorrow I had an issue with one of my plates and said screw it and found the promax billet easy adjustable plates, bit the bullet.

Anyone use them, like them, better, worse?

I just went to dual wide bands and need the ease of the ajustable option??

Any feedback????

Yea theres got to be a bunch out there, I was first told two weeks for the next batch, all the last batch were sold, and then I broke down on how bad I needed them and he checked his orders and maybe one wasnt in such a hurry as myself, but he did mention a pair in the display case so?????

All else on my carbs are quickfuel parts and these plates just make them even more tricked out.

But in the end its for the adjustability factor, he spoke like many were out in use

I've got the ProMax rear carb base plate with the 45' angle mixture screws. I can't believe Holley didn't get it right the first time. They are the 'Only way to fly'. I also have the ProMax 'replaceable jet' metering plates in both outboard carbs. Just when I think I have my carbs jetted the way I wan't them I 'teak' them a little more. They are a lifsaver. I don't remember what they cost but they are worth at least double that. If you have a six pack set up and even if someone else is going to do your tuning, do everyone a favor and get these upgrades, or quit complaining .

Now thats what im wanting to hear ive already got the good plates, nice bowls from QFT and these were a hard swallow at $175 per but now I really cant wait....were not some of the org end carbs pre-set and capped off from mopar????

None of mine have been but I thought I read about it maybe??

The factory outboard mixture screws were "set" at the factory and capped or plugged off. Even if you managed to remove the plugs without buggering up the screws, you had to remove the rear carb everytime you made an adjustment to the mixture. This could take hours. As far as the factory metering plates, again they had factory designed fuel metering openings and if you wanted to "adjust" the fuel metering, you had to carefully drill the openings and hope you didn't make them to big. The ProMax plates replace the factory metering plates and allow you to buy a holley jet kit (recommended) and not only jet the front and rear carbs up or down as you would the center carb, but it also alows you to change each of the 6 "corners" or jets to suit those individual cylinders. In other words, some guys have a different number jet in each of the 6 holes. Ive changed the jetting on my carbs about 8 times. Part of this is due to a head and cam change. Right now with my current combo I am running 79's in front, 66's in the center and 81's in the rear, along with a #35 squirter and a 8.5 powervalve. It's a mild build, low comp (8.5 to 1), 446 with factory manifolds and full 2.5 exhaust. I have a small 3 ring binder with my car and engine info in it. For the carbs I draw a simple diagram and everytime I change jetting, etc I cross out the old jet number and write in the new one. This way I can see where I started and keep track of the changes.

Whoa...You just CANT go wrong with those plates or any other 6pk stuff from promax. I am runnin their bases & jet plates for the outboards and what a time saver they are . After dick'n around with tuning I too bit the bullet and bought them & never looked back. Makes things SOOOOOOOOOO much easier . After tuning till wits end I did screw up the fuel lines from taking them off,putting them on,taking them off, putting them on and so on so I bought their 6pk an line fits like a champ and easier to work with but if correct apperance is what your going after I would recommend getting some reg line & rubber hose to tune your car & when you have it nailed down put the correct looking lines on because you WILL round the nuts off and with the price of just the line kit you dont want to be buyin too many of those kits. Oh & try bendin those lines yourself --dont even bother.

That is what I did. I built a rubber hose and brass fitting fuel line set up for my sixpack which is easier to get on or off. That way I don't mess up my $50 steel line set up and save it for the shows, etc.

Use a correct tubing wrench and a bit of never-seize on the threads and your problems will go away.

Been there, done that. It helps, but if you are going to take the carbs off and on 3-5 times a weekend for several weekends, it is still a major pain. the fit with the sec pods, etc is very tight and there is not much room to work. Especeially if you've been 'leaning over fenders' for about 45 years!

They came mid week as planned, polished up real well.

Now they are a Quick Fuel/Promax cross.

Should have it running tuesday, cant wait.

Same intake from the bottom, thank god for the mini controller, it could spray 375HP one time.

This is why I got the pro max plates and put a wide band in both sides.
