Kinda vague on details for both engines. Are they primarily street engines, or race engines? How big is you engine? If yours is a street 426, you're probably better off staying with the dual plane IMO. this article may help you decide: http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/techa...test/index.htmlThere is also an article in a recent HotRod magazine where a few manifold were compared on a 484 street hemi.

If the motor is more on the serious side check this out...................... "Test 3: Single-Plane Intake Dick Landy once quipped, "We'd make another 75 hp on this thing with a decent tunnel-ram." Of course, he said that while pointing to a $5,000 fabricated sheetmetal cross-ram, but the message was that ditching the dual-plane would be worth top-end power. We've always bought into that theory, so we installed a high-rise Ray Barton intake and waited for greatness. It didn't come. To our surprise, the engine struggled to make a smooth curve with the big manifold installed and didn't make any more power except from 6,100 to 6,500 rpm. It did produce the best peak horsepower with the small cam-615 hp at 6,500 rpm-but this intake clearly requires a larger displacement or more engine speed to shine. We wish we'd tried it with the big cam, but it looked like Uncle Dick should not have been so leery of his ported M1." http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/engine/hrdp_1008_dick_landy_484_hemi_engine/photo_06.html

Just a quick question. I have a crate Hemi with the duel plane intake and I have a chance to switch to a single plane one off of a 528 will it be an overkill for my motor? And the guy who has the 528 wants to try the duel plane one how well will it work on his? Thanks
We have a very mild street hemi 472 with the Ray Barton single plane intake that has the integrated valley plate on the 3800lb '70 Charger, with a 950 annular 4150 carb, and its pretty much a street car its so stock, and the single plane blows the M1 dual plane away that was on this car last year. If you can fit it, I highly recomend it, even over a dual 4bbl set-up. Plugs are super close in color on all 8. Never seen that before on a hemi with a single 4bbl and it runs awesome. To date its gone 11.89 @ 100mph off the throttle. Looking for 11.60's.....That pass it went 7.55 in the 1/8th at 92mph, so its got a bunch left in it.

What hood do u have on your 70 charger? I have a 69 4 speed with the 426 crate Hemi it's got 505hp. Do u have the hood clearence for that intake? How much taller is that intake. I got a chance to get this intake and it's a great deal. Thanks
Big Hemi scoop is on it....

Could u feel the diffference in power? Did u pick up hp buy switching? What kind of hood did u put on I'm looking for a fiberglass on with a six pack scoop on in
Its not my car, but I get to drive it and occasionally blow it up. The hood I recomended to him was Glastek, and that's what he went with. It showed up in about 10 days, and fits perfect just as the one on my Cuda did. He is fabricating a cold air pan to seal the carb to the hood. I saw it yestarday, and its almost done...11.50's here we come.
Now back to the intake. I have owned and run hemis now for probably 12 years or so. I have had lots of intakes on them, and this one is probably the best one next to an efi set-up I have on the Cuda I have ever seen. Plugs with the M1 dual plane were horrible. No carb we ran on it, ran very well. Racing it wasn't much better.
Drivabilty on the RB single plane with an off the shelf reaction time 950 annular BG carb is outstanding and so is the performance. Hands down, you can't beat one of these for the money and performance. I thought it was kind of ugly, but its really grown on me now. And it beats buying two carbs and working it all out. Super simple, and less time goofing with everything with just one carb. In three passes, I had this thing flying for a boat. So, yes performance picked up a bunch and so did the drivability. He was going to try a different carb, and I said no, this is the one, it just needs a few sizes more in jet in the rear, and it will mph like its supposed to. I got over two tenths out of this combo already, and there's more yet.

I ran the dual plane for a couple of years on a 472 street hemi with old Mopar aluminum heads and a K8 engle cam. Although it ran OK, I struggled trying to get the fuel distribution equal. The plugs on the same plane were always different colors.
This year I went to Stage V heads and intake with two Edelbrock 650s and a small roller. The plugs are tan, all the same color, the engine response and power is much better, it gets better gas mileage and was still able to make 658HP at 6500rpm.
