When running 2 batteries in the trunk (4 link/4 speed) where/which side is best and why? Split the difference with 1 on each side? or Both on same side..where & why? Just for simplicity or does it serve for better weight placement or traction?? thanks in advance, Doug

Being a 4-link car I would split them... 1 on each side... when you apply the preload its only about 20# so if it weighed more on the right it might end up with a negative preload(which is ok).... I'm a 1 battery guy and its mounted in the center right ahead of the fuel cell

Same here center and forward of fuel cell. i dont like the idea of a batt mounted next to a fuel tank although you dont hear about batt expl. in a trunk.

I had em split before then when I scaled the car, we moved em both to the pass side and got my rear weights within 10lbs of each other and it runs/hooks better than ever. This is w/Cal-tracs though.

sounds stupid but has anybody ever put both batteries on the left rear seems that on my car the left rear seems to lift the body away from the tire while the right rear is going down have played with the shocks ladder bar set up
That was one of the reasons for the original post. Mopars seem to always torque right rear down. So why put the batteries on the right side when it seems they are needed more on the left? Im guessing its more crucial on a leaf spring car where youre lacking preload adjustments?? Maybe the ladder bar cars have their limitations too? Is it safe to say with a four link car battery placement isnt as crucial due to all the adjustments you can make? Please chime in.
thanks again, Doug

There are some laws of physcics involved in the chassis actions and reactions, I wish I could remember the names of the ancient scientest that they are named for, but I can't The turning of the drivetrain imparts torque onto the left rear tire which cause the left front to rise in reaction, the rotation also causes the right rear tire to try and lift off of the ground, action and opposite reaction law applys on this. Picture the driveshaft from the rear of the car, as it tuurns the pinion shaft it is forcing the left rear axle, tire and everthing on that side to apply weight onto the ground under the tire, now look at the rotation as it comes to the right side tire, it will try and lift it up instead of forcing it down like the drivers side Weigh the car if you can and see where the weight needs to be placed to get as much weight as possible on the rear, especially the right side

Are you running a anti roll bar... my opinion it should be mandatory on a 4 link
