This Hemi Oil Dip Stick install is a Nightmare..
No way will this new Stock Style dipstick work with these headers and block (World cast iron & TTI) I was thinking Milodon or someone makes one that is flexible and easy to install. Any users or part numbers would be helpful, pics would be nice also.
So who hear doesn't bother even running one.
Man I really don't like the idea of not being able to have a dip stick.
Not that it's just a oil level indicator. It also provides a easy way to look at the oil and the oil's condition. I always had the habit of pulling it and looking between each pass, or at least once or twice a race day.
I figure it might just save minimal a engine, or even possible a life or someone Else's. I have seen some strange things over the years every once in a while by just pulling the dip stick.
Found a crank case full of Gasoline once.
I was told, that the fuel pump gasket or diaphragm gave up and some how pump gas directly into the engine (small block Chevy )
And once at least a gallon of water maybe more which pretty much look like chocolate milk.
Both Times the problem was found and fixed that didn't result in any damage and probably avoided catastrophic engine damage for sure.
I really shouldn't even consider NOT running one. But I am actually pretty surprised at the number of guys I have seen personally not fooling with one.
So who doesn't run one?
Thoughts?

I do not have one , I monitor what comes out of the puke tank and add accordingly . Race engines do not run long enough to burn any negligible amounts of oil.

I change it every second to third weekend anyways.

No HEMI help here but, I install the dipstick tube, zip-tie a plastic
cap over the end and keep the dipstick in the trailer.

I have level plugs welded in the side of my oil pan at the level I want to run. Easy way to check and one less thing to have in the way under hood.

I have the Milodon flexible braided steel dipstick on my hemi w/ 2 1/4" TTI headers. It's a pain, but it does fit.

I use a Tygon tube between 2 90* fittings in the side of the pan, calibrated but basically just a sight gauge. We used to sell them. Tells the level at a glance.
As odd as it sounds, I acquired the habit of smelling the dipsticks in my cars after having a Hemi with a carb problem; I was amazed at how much gas odor was in the oil.
