having a problem with the brake pedal. seems it dont come up all the way to hit the brake light switch. i looked in the manual but cant find the pedal assembly to see if there should be a return spring. anyone know why the pedal would not come up all the way? if theres a spring does anyone have a picture of it? and where it is installed?? thank you

IS 19 A SPRING?
Yes 19 is a spring, if you look at the underside of the pedal brace, the same brace that supports the steering column, you'll see 2 elongated slots in the middle of it, directly above the brake pedal, this is where the spring "hooks" to, and then stretched downward to the pedal

the assembly uses a big heavy spring that attatches to the clutch pedal.do you have the correct pivot shaft bolt?
I think your confusing the clutch overcenter spring with the brake return/assist spring

here's another photo (but basically of the clutch bracket assy).....but I have circled the 2 slots that I refered to in my post above, these slots allow you to "hook" the brake spring onto the brace, then stretch it to the retaining hole in the pedal, some pedal assys will have a "button" very much like the clutch pedal, or a hole to secure the brake spring, or the spring may attach to the pedal pushrod/retaing bolt, all depends on specific years and brake linkage, but the referenced photos are from the "E" body engineering prints
