HELP! 79 d100 overcharging.... #740900

alright guys,my truck was discharging,i had a bad connection on the amp gauge.i pulled the cluster and the wires were loose,they wouldnt tighten all the way up,so i added a washer and tightened up the wires.now it wont stop charging,its all the way on c.i tried a different voltage regulator,still the same.what gives?

(1)take the batt out & slow charge it back up on your shop charger. (2)new VR not grounded (good enough) (3) new vr is bad (4) check brushes and the green wire from the one brush to the VR terminal to see if it's "full fielding"

I had an alternator that cause the batt to overcharge and swell. Have the alt tested aswell as the batt.
