I know of one, in fact I'm not going to mention it here because I would like to buy and restore it one day.

Is that the one asking for $20K on ForAbodiesOnly.com and just sold to someone in New York?

Had original motor with car but in the car was a W2 headed 416 with maybe a X block! Nicely done car for someones first mopar and first restoration. He even painted it himself. Actually showed before pictures and it was a solid car to start with. Wish more seller would show before pictures with their cars for sale.

Alan, most folks around here know about my cars. I am sure the word got out years ago LOL.

I can't tell you how many times I have had someone tell me they never built 4-Speed Demon's with A/C. Never say Never!

Is the AC required to make you "cool" on your Sunday visits to church?

Nice combo I am sure the guy in New York state is a happy man

I don't know why people feel this way, as it seems that 4-speeds and AC mix as long as you don't pass 400 cid.

However, I don't think saying "Never say never" is correct because that implies something that wasn't available but was built, and we know that the 340 4-speed combo was available.

I had a 68 Dart GTS 340 4 speed with air so yeah they built them. I think you could only get 3.23s with air though

See you at Carlisle Rick

As a rule of thumb, 3.23s were the lowest gear you could get on AC cars, although I think I've seen 3.42s as the lowest - it was a GS Stage 1. Anything lower than that, I'd be suspicious that the car isn't real.

It wasn't an A body, but I owned a very unique 70 model R/T Challenger some years back. Not only did it have AC along with a 4speed trans, but it also had the 3.55 axle package. The kicker? It was a convertible as well.

According to factory literature (for what it's worth), it wasn't available:

Do you have any docs on it?

I didn't think real muscle cars came with ac, but maybe the 4 speed cancels it out. Cool car though

I hate to invoke Galen's name, but he looked at the car and mentioned it in one of his "by the numbers" articles in Mopar Muscle a long time ago...
Several others on the board remember the car as well, it was for sale for quite a while till I coughed up 10K for it.

I have the tag info;

G33-H51-N41-N42-N85-P37

And I have a couple photos;

So, Barry, we have two items from the same document that contradict each other, it seems.
