So, the verdict is. At some point later on I plan on swapping in a 5.9 Magnum out of a late model truck/van. Now here is several questions which I tried to search but, did not see an answer through the search.

The car is a 68 B-Body is here is the questions. I have. The car now is a 318/904. For engine mounts I plan on using the Schumacher Mounts for the swap plus for the quality as well. I am wondering if it will move the position of my transmission thus meaning I would need a new driveshaft and possible other modifications.

On the cylinder heads I am thinking of using the EQ-CH318B heads because they have the LA bolt pattern drilled and because I already have a good intake to use. Would I have any issues using these? Also, if I went with them what size/type of headgasket should I use?

On the oil pan I know I need a center sump. With that being said would any LA 360 car pan work? I think I would need a LA pan gasket for proper sealing correct? Thanks in advance.

As for the engine mounts you can use the factory mounts with a few washers on the drivers side so that the engine will stay in the exact same spot. The magnums still use the LA mounts as well as the later model style ring mounts.

A 360 pan will work and you can use the Magnum gasket if you like. I did. I am not sure exactly which 360 pan you will need but it should look like your 318 pan you have now. The difference is in the size of the round drops at the front/rear.

Hope it helps.

I used the shumaker mounts. But my car was a 318/727. Didn't move anything.
I agree though, you could use the 318 mounts with some spacers added on one side.

The magnum gasket on the la pan did not work for me. It sealed the sides, but the front and back did not make contact and it would pour out oil when I tipped the motor to put it in and get it out. So I used the LA pan gasket. Yes any 360 LA pan will bolt up.

I used the efi, so no idea about the head or intake gaskets.

Mine is an odd ball thing. It is an experimental harness from painless.
They decided not to produce it, but from what I gather, it was basically the jeep 4.0 harness that they added a couple things to.
I have a few pics here, but don't want to hijack his post.

Just curious, where are these washers supposed to go? I ask becuase I have a 98 magnum block in my demon with stock v8 mounts and no washers...everything lines up fine

You only need them if you are mixing 318/340/5.2 with 360/5.9 parts. If you use 360 mounts on a 5.9 or 318 mounts on a 5.2 then no spaces are needed.

340 and 360 blocks have less space between the mounting logs on the driver's side than 273 and 318 blocks. Tech Archive - 360 adapted to a 318 mount with spacers.. You will need a 360 center sump passenger car oil pan and pickup.
