I have a set of MSD 8.5 Super conductor wires that I have been kicking around for a long time. I have never used them, bought them and sat them on the shelf.

Now that I am converting from the stock mopar distributor to and MSD HEI (same with the coil) I am toying with the idea of changing the boots from the straight to MSDs High Temp. 90 degree boots and the HEI terminals at the distributor and coil.

So my question is, How do you do it? Would you cut the old boots off with a razor blade? Pry the old terminals off and treat it as a new wire. Crimp on the new terminal and then press on the new boot?

you should just be able to pull the old boots off, just dont stretch the wire

Sounds good, it is a brand new set of wires so I am kind of leery of messing with them.

But, I have tried to sell them on CL 3 times and cant get more than $20 for them. So I am going to try my hand at converting them to my new application with the better high temp boots.

I changed the dist ends on ours when we went MSD .The 90 degree ends I got from NAPA.They had the whole set of 90s.Just spray with soem silicone and they should slip off. Then just change them to the 90s.Rocky

I still have to change the crimp on terminals inside the boot correct?
