I picked up a master cylinder for my B-body disc brake conversion but the exit lines are on the engine side, not the fender side. I have heard Hemi cars had the exit lines on the engine side? Is this true? Thanks.

The master that you show in the picture is for 1968 to 1970 B body with disc brakes for all engines except a Hemi.
If its OE it will have the casting #2226821 on the bottom, and if the number is not there, its a replacement master that looks the same as OE.

But the exit lines are on the engine side, not the fender side?

the one you have is for a 318 383 440 car : Disc Brake Master

if you use it on hemi car you can not get the valve covers. off

the lines are on the fender side for a hemi: Disc Brake Master

so you can get the valve covers. off

In the chart below note the reference at the bottom about fender side and engine side outlets.

I agree. I have seen other original big block, non hemi cars that have had the lines exit towards the fender side. I guess it was what they had available at the time. Majority of the non hemi cars had the lines exit towards the engine side.
