Work going on at 75-80

I think I read in a bio on Durham that he beat Ronnie and won that race. You know that was only a year or two before my first trip to 75-80?

How about the Luke Duke pics? All that's missing is Luke dragging his exhaust system. Remember when he had trouble sealing the blower and would run 15's one pass and 10's the next?

75-80 was the first place Ronnie Sox got paid to show up and race. Bill Wilcolm paid him to come up from down south and take on the locals in 1963 with his Z-11 Chevrolet.

I own most of the 8x10s from John Durand's website covering the linked race above. I also have the Eastern Drag News that covered this race. I'll need to pull it out and see who actually won. John told me this was one of the only times he shot a race at 75-80. He was working for Eastern Drag News at the time of this race.

Recognize a few of you here. I can't even believe this is gonna happen. It's gonna be great to have the track open again.

I just got a scanner I can actually use at the Circuit City close out and scanned a few pics. Maybe you'll recognize a few....

Marvin Baughmans 440 dart. I think he lost the rear here and got it repaired that day right in the stage lanes...

Dickie Blairs dart....this was probably around 1984, 1985 based on unpainted roadrunner in other lane.

Time Bandit Camaro in lane one. The duster in far lane is......I can't remember. Anyone?

Nice 69 Charger in far lane. I think that was Dickie Blairs son's car? Not sure. Anyone remember the rolling cage in lane 1?

Up on the hill in 1989 or 1990. Somewhere in that time. Andy Caldwells car in the backround and I think that is Bill's Mustang to the left. Or was it still Mike's car at this point?
