I have 64 B-body with a 426 wedge, solid mounts and electic water pump. The roll cage is in the way to mount the alt up on the head so I made this. Will this work? I hope so dont feel like a redo.

Looks good! There's a guy I race with that did that on his car and hasn't had any problems.

I tried to keep the alternator level with the crank in case the engine would move a little so the belt tension doesn't change but it shouldn't. Do I still need to add a torque strap on the left side?

If you don't have solid mounts ad a torque strap.

Since it is not mounted to the engine at all, any engine movement could be a problem. Only way to find out is to go run it, but I would take a couple extra alternator belts along........

Well it will work fine as long as the engine is mounted solidly. If not you most likely will have issues.

Thanks, I was hoping this would work. Looks like it will. I think i'm going to add a strap anyway just to be safe.
