My billet hp-150 decided to start leaking the other day and I was curious if anyone else has had this problem and if so did you rebuild it(if possible)or send it back or toss it. Thankxxx....

Am I the only idiot using these pumps

my buddy runs one of the 150s for his 440. A little quieter than the blue one - no trouble so far - 2 yrs. Seems a simple enough pump to rebuild. I would if it was mine.

Maybe they make a seal kit for it?

I dove into it and it`s pretty simple enuff but after visiting the bullet and reading horror stories about the pump gas w/ethonol and how it`s jacking up rubber components,I wonder if a different pump would be the hot ticket. What I found was the bearing on the shaft that turns the gears has a rubber seal that keeps fuel out of the motor by puking out of the weep hole well, it puked out of the weep hole which tells me it`s no longer sealing and it`s part of the lower body on the pump so doesn`t look replaceable....... Just for giggles I filled the puke hole w/a bb and silicone and will check it in the morning but my concern is that fuel may now head up into the main body electrical area and cause havock......I`m strongly looking at the Mallory 250 bypass pump.

i have the 150hp on my dart, its been on there 3 years, probably has 5 thousand street miles or so with no issues yet.

I think I may have sealed it back up but we`ll see shortly when I head over to the DMV. I don`t know what your fuel`s like in your town but I`m hearing more and more horror stories about the ethanol killing rubber parts.......

thats a bummer, one of the reasons i liked that pump is it was suppose to be E-85 compatible. we just put one of those pumps on a buddies car that we're gonna convert over to E-85

Worse fuel pump I have ever purchased period. I asked around and these pumps are really horrible. Matter of fact the guy on this thread is the only one I have heard that hasnt had any trouble yet.
I spent a hour on the phone with a Holley tech guy, he said in not so many words, his entire day is spent on the phone talking to guys about this fuel pump alone.
I think It was on the truck for less than One week, before i wised up and sent it back to Summit racing for a Mallory 140 pump...
Not much better it eats brush's like clock work every 3 months.
The coomutator is worn so bad from the brushes there is about a 3/16 step were the brush rides around it.
I really like how the pump worked, and it was super quite.
My Holley pump the relief valve/plunger kept hanging up. The fuel pressure would swing quickly and violently from 5 to 14 psi like a flag blowing in the wind.

So far so good but I`m going to get something else not only cos of the leak but mainly cos 6.22 in the 1/8th is way quicker that my 9.98 1/4 mile pass and the fact that I had to jet the hell out of my dart for any top end power.......thankxx guys!

Yeah I have had both the 125 and the 150. Neither of which made it a full pass without making the car's nose over.
The 125 had an output of less than 50gph, with 15v's to it and nothing in front of it. With any kind of line in front it was around 40.
Talked with holley tech support, "never heard anything like that, these pumps are really good..."

If you want to keep a simple dead head system that will still feed your combo, I'd recommend the Aeromotive street rod pump. It's their smallest one but it works really well. It fed my car up until 2 weeks ago when I upgraded to a return style system using the A1000 pump. Only reason I upgraded was I started having issues with vapor locking when I drove the car on hot days.

I was looking at those today in the Summit rag and was consiering that or the Edelbrock......wanna sell it?

I've only recently upgraded to a 250 from the 150. It was on for 10 years and no problems. It's now the spare.

Do you mean the old Holley black 140 pump? As far as I know these billet series are just a few years old.....

Didn't they used to call these pumps the "dominator" series? I could be mistaken.
