It's way cheaper at the businesses that sells bricks and blocks. You are definetly paying retail at a hardware store.
I've been on jobs where we had the media delivered with a dump truck, in my younger days.
I'd also like to point out that, masonary, play, pool filter sand is more rounded in shape. Sure it cut's and works but Silica sand and coal slage(black beauty, black lightining, back this and black that) are jagged in shape. They are designed to cut better and are better suited for reuse, exspecially slage. Because it splinters upon impact and keeps it's shape, just's get's a little smaller with each reuse. Reg sand get's even more rounded with use and is not as effective as when new, which is not as effective as media designed for blasting. That's been my experiance.
That's where I used to get it, but the place no longer carries sand. I only use mine one time since I do it outside. I use it to to clean up rust and such and I think something like black beauty would be overkill. I guess it would probally be ok for suspension stuff, but I like the fine stuff for body.
