I yanked out my engine for detailing and took off the back line that goes to the compressor and a small spring came out. Now I'm ready to put everything back in and can't find the stupid thing anywhere! Does anyone know if I need that spring, what it's for, and if I do need it, anyone have one??? I'd post a picture, but I don't have the spring to show! It's on a 69 Charger and the line is the one on the back of the compressor. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Is there a fine-mesh metal screen in the fitting that bolts to the back of the compressor? The spring keeps the screen from coming out of the fitting and bears against the EPR valve to keep it in place.

Yes there is, John, and that's the line I'm talking about. So the spring isn't a special rated spring or anything, and I should be able to replace it without a problem from what it sounds like to me Thanks for the help

Cheers

Yeah, I'd say if it fits the bore and puts a little pressure on both parts it's good to go.
