Can't believe my motor mounts have broken already.. Stock 440 in my 67 with 1500 miles on the engine and mounts.. One very small burnout and mostly just some crusing done with these..
Bought the mounts from NAPA and when I saw made in India I was worried, but I thought they would last a while...
Any update on some recommendations and sources here for some new good ones???

The India made mounts are JUNK. It doesn't matter what name is on the box. You can tell by the look and feel of the rubber (well, I'm not even sure it's really rubber, might be elephant fat for all I know). I did buy a pair of mounts from Kragen (O'Reilly) a few weeks ago for the Ramcharger. They were made in Korea, which appear to better made and with better material. They also have a lifetime warranty.
I also recently made a transmision mount for my wife's 95 LeBaron. The only mounts available were a junk mount from the local transmission parts house for about $35 or the dealer for about $200. A poly sway bar bushing and some square tubing, DONE. I do feel some extra vibration at idle from time to time, but the acceleration shake is gone.
Do the cars use the same rubber mount as trucks? If so get Diesel mounts

Nope, completely different and even different than earlier K-car derivatives.

thanks for the replys..
Any dealers for Shumacher mounts or the polys?? I like the Shumachers but not sure I need all that.. I do like the idea of doing this only once ( again)
Any other suggestions out there??
Schumacher sells directly and through Mancini and others. I have the older version Schumacher mount - rubber with through bolt - on a 496B and it has been trouble free. I would buy the interlocking type if I were in the market now. Usually only one is required (drivers) with a good quality standard mount on the other. This helps limit vibration. If you call schumacher they'll get you fixed up.
The other fix is a chain or a strap from the block to the frame to control engine twist. I don't run one but if you ask you'll get lots of pics of different setups.

Is it possible that they soften to a gooey "chewing gum" consistency when they get warm from engine heat? [/quote
No , they soften because of the INFERIOR rubber they are made of .
