So if I want to make sure I'm not running out of fuel with my stockish mechanical pump, I'm thinking I can install a fuel pressure gauge and make sure I've got 4 to 5 psi left after a high speed run down a lonely road. So I don't need to run a gauge permanetly and most of the gauges I've seen install under the hood. So what do you guys do to make a quick check? Do you run an analog gauge on a long extension hose inside the car? Are there cheap electric gauge/sending units made for this purpose?

None of my kids offered to curl up under the hood with a flashlight

Thanks

Why would you even post that?

I think they make a vacuum/pressure gauge that hooks up with a rubber hose. Mine is a Snap on and I don't think you want to pay for something like that. Then run a hose to the windshield. Just make sure everything is tight and the hose don't come off. Could be a very costly mistake if you do.

Something like this.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.
