I found a number stamped into the bottom of the block on the pan rail surface or the ear the starter bolts to. The number is PT440S22011763, kinda thought it was a weird number and location, anyone know what the number means. the block was cast 4-67

That is the engine serial number, not found on all blocks.

PT440S22011763

PT= Plant Trenton, built at the Trenton engine plant
440= Displacement
S= Special Engine (Warranty Replacement)
2201= Build date August 7, 1967
1763= Sequence number, the 1763rd built that day.
