Well we bust a rocker arm on my buddy's motor this weekend they're the nasty INDY black ones. Think its time to upgrade to something better just wondered what people used and whats recommended?

If budget is not a problem then Jesel or T&D would be my choice

I have heard good reports on the Aussie ones, name escapes me.. Yella terra ?

What ratio are you after 1.5 or 1.6 as this may limit your choice

What was the reason for breakage, metal fatigue ?

what spring pressures you running

Hows your Cuda ?

Hello mate hows things? My Cudas still a big pile of bits slowly coming together. Johns Cudas dead and not going anywhere by the looks of it grrrrr. Suspect possible over rev or may just be simply because these INDY rockers are cheese! Apparently they're known for breaking! Not sure on spring pressures etc as the motors pete wisemans old one from the dart and we havent many specs on it. Hauser built it but doesnt know all the details. Hows the Cuda going? Fancy lending us your motor for the weekend?

With a good roller cam spring pressures, the Indy rockers are known for breaking after time. The more pressure, the shorter the time. They seem to hold up just fine with solid lifter (flat tappet) cam, valve spring pressures (135# seat, 370# open).

I am running the Indy EZ 295 CNC heads on my 512 low deck engine.I have the old Comp 650 solid cam with 150 to 160 closed seat pressure and around 370 open.I have a set of the Hughes Engines 1.5 rockers with their banana grooved shafts and their hold down kit.Everything assembled nicley and has not given me any trouble at all.I started running the car back in February and as of now I have close to 100 passes on the engine.

Indy heads + standard offset rockers + roller cam = Harland Sharp... at least IMO.

I use the RAS rocker arms on my stuff. They can be hard to find though as they only produce a small number of them each year.

that makes 3 of us. no doubt that's what i'd put on them. buy a good set of rockers now and you'll never worry about them again.
