Converting a 66' Slant 6 Belvedere Convertible from auto to a 383 4 speed. Bought the bracket for the Z-Bar but where do I weld it? I thought there would be a slot in the frame to position it. Do I have to mock up the tranny & bell housing? Mark

Here's one on an A-body looking into the wheel arch.

The B& E body have a bracket that welds to the inside. I just don't know exactly where it goes.

Make sure you get the Z bar straight and level, with a Lakewood can you may have to shorten it (the Z bar) a half inch os so, And don't forget to make some sort of a torque strap for your motor or you will have shifting issues. Otherwise it's a piece of cake.
