Guys,
need some info, I need a set of head gaskets for the weekend and would like to use Fel Pro 1009 gaskets but no one has any in stock up here, closest place that has them is 200 miles away.
My local parts store has a set of Victor head gaskets that he says cross reference to the 1009 part number,thE Victor number is 3464SG.
Will these work for 14.1 compression.

Victor makes good gaskets.I ran the 1009s on my 12.5 440 for 8 years.I now run the FelPro marines on it with Stealth heads.Going on 3 years and no problems.14 to 1 is a bit higher though.Rocky

IF you go with the Felpro 1009, check them carefully. Mine had the fire ring hanging into the bore on a couple of cyl on a .060" over 440.

Hello,

What about the FelPro 1105. Is there any available nearby?

That is to much compression for either,(I use the Victors all the time under 13-1) I would suggest some Cometics and use a little silicone around the water passages, almost bullet proof on a BB.

Guys,
Thanks for the help, I had a buddy that is on vacation make the 200 mile trip to pick up the only two in the state that any parts store could find.
We had a set of Cometics on it and it was leaking water into the oil, blamed the cometics. we put new head gaskets on it and still had water in the oil, we found a cracked block in the #2 main web that went about 2 inches up into the #1 and 3 cylinders. we yanked the 528 and stuff little depandable, my old 451 in it, we had her running about 45 minute before time trials started, the 60' wasn't pretty but we put the Grinch in the winner circle again
We went 6.18 with the little motor on Sunday but turned the red eye on twice, loosers. with a higher stall converter she'll run 5.90's with the small motor.
New block for the 528 will be headed to the local machine shop for cleaning and magnafluxing then onto Riechert for machining
