Yeah they'll fit.. As long as you change the tailpanel & decklid... Question is why...

For one, the side markers are different. The 69 used a small reflector and the 70 used a lamp with a larger opening. From what I can tell, the bodylines are different as well. Theoretically you COULD hang different quarters on, but they wouldn't be factory correct.

Its a long story, but a buddy of mine has a lot of 70 parts he's been collecting over 20 plus years. I have a 69 body that needs 1 1/4 & maybe both. . He has a nice 4 speed I could use in my 66 Charger...so we where thinking if the 70 parts would fit my 69 shell then perhaps a trade....just thinking.

Is an NOS full 1970 quarter panel? or just one cut off. I'm sure if the part is an nos one that maybe you could trade it/them for one of the new 68/9 quarters that are now available.... Then the company might use it to tool more 70's. Lots of ifs, but there are quite a few guys on this site w/ 70 coronet/super bees that want and need this part.

The 1/4's he's got are some he bought at a swap meet. They where cut off. He's worked at a body shop for 20 some years and has allready done 2 other B-bodys so I'm sure he can get them to fit & look nice. He's a big fan of the 70. His favorite car. Thats why he's intrested in doing this. And I would like to have that 4 speed set up.

I'd buy them and t hen sell them for double to a 70 guy. As those are harder to get. Then I'd buy the correct 1/4's for my 69. They will need extensive work to look right. Do yourself a big fat favor and buy the right part(s)

He isn't looking at buying the quarters, he's looking at trading his 69 body to his friend that has a 4spd he wants & also the friend has 70 quarters & the friend would convert the body to a 70..

FWIW the doors are exactly the same, the rockers are exactly the same, the trunk floor is the same.. the front clip will bolt on.. If he cares the ignition on a 69 is in the dash, 70 on the column...

The 70 Coronet Quarters will not fit unless you rebody the entire rear end of the 69 with the 70 pieces.

Meaning you'll need both quarters, the 70
tailpanel and the 70 trunk lid..

Also, the rear lower trunk gutters are different
on a 70 Coronet vs. 68-69. You would have to
salvage them from a 70 coronet donor car to get
it right.

I don't know if you can salvage those w/o screwing up the tailpanel in the process...
so you might end up needing 2 donor cars plus
the quarter panels to pull the job off..

To say the least, rebodying the rear of the 69 with a 70 would be a tedious/time-consuming process at best.

I guess I have to ask....
Why would you want to do that?
Just to say you did? Well. OK...

Better still, if you have NOS quarter panels for the 70, sell them to AMD or better still, trade them for ALL of the 69 Sheet metal you need to do your 69. Quarter panels, rear w/s cowl, full trunk floor, trunk extensions, rocker panels, floor pans, outer wheel houses etc...

They make everything for a 69 and they are very nice parts.

One of the factors why AMD isn't making 70 Coronet quarter panels is because nobody has
ever come forward with an NOS one to copy....

True, it isn't the main reason, but it's a factor
none-the-less.
