hi guys does anyone know if a 71 cuda grille will go into a 70 without too much grief,,if so what parts will need to be changed ie ,lights etc thanks

Their are many differences. Off the top of my head.
You would have to change the header panel.
Buy the 71 headlight backing plates to allow for 4 headlights
change wiring

The 70 fenders are different. I'm thinking the depth of the headlight pots as well...I could be wrong, maybe it's 72-74 fenders I'm thinking about

'70 fenders have a vertical flange in the headlight bucket area, where the headlight bezel meets the centre grille.

You would need to cut these off in order to get clearance for the '71 grille. Plus use the '71 header panel as mentioned.


'72-4 fenders do not have the flange and it may be easier/cleaner to swap the earlier marker lights than to trim/reinforce the flange properly.

In short "without too much grief" ain't gonna happen.

BE&A makes the headlight bucket assemblies to convert 70 fenders to 71 fenders,or replace rusty buckets in 71 fenders. You will have to drill out the spot welds,remove the 70 light buckets,and weld the new buckets into place. BE&A also makes the dual headlight mounting brackets. Those parts,a 71 headder panel,and a headlight wiring harness from either a 71 Cuda,or a 70/71 Challenger will be needed to power the dual headlamps. Now that these parts are available,the conversion is not that differcult. It will not be an inexpensive swap though.
