Who's running them? Upgrading the '72 Sat-a-lot (3,700 lbs) with a BB drivetrain. Suspension mods will be hemi (1") torsion bars, factory front sway bar, AFCO 20231 XHD springs, ADDCO rear swaybar (don't know the diameter).

I met an engineer at a sister company the other day who used to work for AFCO racing products (fancy that!). When I asked him about shocks, he said how much can you spend and what do you want to do with the car. Anyway, he recommenede KONIs as a good-all-around shock, better than KYBs.

Anybody offer any input? Good, bad, otherwise?

KYBs

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

Got red (adjustable) Konis on a `71 Bee. Were installed in the late 80`s, still working good.
Also added XHD-Springs a couple of years ago.
I don`t like going fast on the German Autobahn with those cars, but feels much safer at Speed than my `70 Fury with stock suspension.

I'm not sure that you can even find Koni shocks for that application.

Best shocks that are actually available would probably be the Bilsteins. Call Firm Feel and see what they can get for you. www.firmfeel.com

Konis are available, but they are not exactly designed for Mopars.
You may have to change the sleeve at the lower end, that mounts to the Bolt of the Shockplate. And they are maybe to short and you have to add shockextensions. Depending on your application. Apart from that, they are excellent and very popular over here.

Type in Koni under "Suchbegriff" and scroll down.

i'm running koni's on the rear of my 70. i don't know the part number, but i just found them at one of the major suppliers online and ordered them.

overall i like them, although i haven't got around to playing with the different settings.

KYBs

I'm running the KYB GR2s on a '73 Charger. The fronts are WAY too soft and the rears are too stiff.

They were cheap, and I got what I paid for.

Well crap. I read on here that the KYBs were really good and bought a gas-a-just set for the rear of my '73 to replace the existing air shocks. Haven't bought the front set yet.
