To anyone using the Pro-Comp/Victor RB heads: Do you're heads hold a good amount of oil in the valve spring area after running? I have a fresh 440 with Pro-Comp heads after I shut the motor down even after 10-15 mins a certain amount of oil will leak out when I remove the valve covers. There's about a half inch of oil collected up to the valve cover rail. Just wondering if this is normal?

I have a set on a RB and the drainback doesn't seeem to be great, but I've never had them spill over unless the motor is running.

Thanks for the reply Yeh it looks like by design some oil will remain in the head as the returns arent nearly as large and are much higher then the cast Iron heads. Just making sure others have had the same experience

I'm sure ProComp's engineering dept could answer your technical questions about their products.

I think its very common, a while back there was a thread like this but with B1-BS heads. Like i said then, i just always remove the covers carefully and used a clean terry cloth rag to sop up the oil before running the valves.

He basically said what I already knew. And Im paraphrasing But he said due to manufacturing compromises of the runner configuration and how the BB Chrysler head is designed its not uncommon to have oil collect at the bottom of the head, and said it wouldnt have an adverse affect on the performance.
