A friend of mine just bought a wrecked Chris Craft boat made in the
1950's. The engine is a basket case and he was wondering what the engine is
exactly. It is a Hemi type with dual four barrels.

Here is the numbers stamped on the engine block

M45SP V 250 R 8.2 300975S Chrysler Imperial Marine.

Can anyone give me some info to pass along to him?

Thank you
Stu

The 331 Hemi was a M-45-S, not sure if 354s and 392s were also. Some of the other numbers refer to trans gear reduction and rotation.

Repoped manuals are available.

Looks like it might be a 331 Hemi according to this site...
