Got out to the track today and had a great day.

Off the trailer first round time trial went 6.9850 sec @97.02 mph, 1.5029 60ft. Previous best time was last fall at 7.0600 sec @ 98 and change mph, 1.5 something 60ft. Second time trial went 6.9409 sec @96.79 mph, 1.4550 60ft. Made it into the 3rd of 5 rounds of eliminations with out having to buy back in, kind words of praise from observers who were surprised by the cars performance. They admitted that the looks of the car it was easy to dismiss or over look (it's got the finest paint job a 2 1/2 inch brush can do with flat black) it yanked the tires every round and carried em'.

Yea, it was a good day.

It would be nice if it would make some money and pay for itself; it's a work in progress.

Congrats Jim. Going rounds is a good thing, sounds like it's running good.

It's a simple purpose built crusher refugee.

360, .03 over, KB107's, Eagle rods, internal ballance stock crank, MP .557 cam installed on the dots (measured 2 deg advanced), M1 intake, 750dp Holley, Thorley "D" Dart headers, Hughes CNC Edelbrock heads, Hughes 1.6 rockers. CRT (thank you John for a great tranny) 904 with a low gear first, PTC 5000 stall converter, 8 3/4 with 4.88's. Calvert (they are good guys!!!) mono leafs, Rancho shocks, Cal Track bars. M/T 275/60-15 drag radials (the widest tire I can fit under the car).

The pic posted is from 2008, I've since patched the quaters and lost my aerodynamics by oxidation, but a couple of weeks ago while backing the car off the trailer, the front valence got caught and sacrificed itself to the Gods of scrap metal so now I have no grill or bumper; so the car still looks like a crusher refugee.

Thank you for your kind words.

Jim, you're right, going rounds is a good thing! It felt great. In the first round, I remembered something Brett said to me up at Cicero back in 2008...."When you catch the guy in the other lane....you can let up a little....": The story behind that was that I had to run the guy in the other lane down, went past him like a pay car past a bum, I had an 11.18 dial, and broke out with an 11.14; so this time I stabbed the brakes after I caught the guy in the other lane and had first round win, put Sandy Hacker on the trailer in the second round (she broke out) and I got beat in the third (tree'd). IT WAS FUN!!!!
