I am not racing yet this year because my eyesite has diminished to the point I have trouble seeing at night,etc. I was to the point of selling the car. I went to the eye doc and have decided to get crystalens implants on both eyes. I really want to race again and I am not quite ready to put my daughter in the car. Frankly guys I am a little scared about having the procedure done. Without it my hopes of racing are fading. Galen

Well yes I have an implant in my right eye, but not by choice. I was smacked in the eye with a tire iron. My lens was knocked loose and they put an artificial lense back in. Honestly my eye is as good as it can be, which is not very good....but better than a black hole.
(Which is what it was right after I got hit and for about 2 weeks after) The surgery itself wasnt that bad. My eye hurt like a muther when I first woke up, but the pain was gone in a couple of days. This was back in 95, so Im sure the procedure is even better now.

Don’t know if we are talking about the same thing but my late mother had inter-ocular lens implants. This was due to cataracts. Her vision was 20/20 after the procedure and she had no problems with them at all.

Had Cataract surgery last year. Went night racing two weeks later,no problems at all! Nice to be able to see what I was missing.

I had cataract surgery 4 years ago and they replaced my lenses. The procedure was uncomfortable but totally painless. Each eye took about 5 minutes. I have 20-20 long vision but must use reading glasses. Night driving is much better but not perfect.

I was legally blind back in 97, had laser surgery on both eye's, Results, perfect vision. Last fall while cutting a piece of metal with a chop saw [ didn't put the safety glasses on as it was just a small piece ] a hot burr came off hit my right eye right in the center. went to a eye surgeon who took a dental like drill to my eye. Now I need a eye transplant. Good luck with your surgery.
