I adjusted the valves on my 440 and seems to be better at high RPM so I took it out on the highway and at cruise rpm it feels like it is starving a little, just does not feel smooth at 2300 in 5th gear. I brought it home through about 2 miles of stop and go traffic and pulled the plugs this morning and they all look lean. I am only running a Holley red pump as my fuel source. I have a 750 vac secondary holley with a proform body, the jets in the front are 81s, the floats are adjusted correctly. Could I just be getting enough fuel to keep it running down the road but not enough to not run lean? Should this pump be able to keep up with my carb? thanks guys!
