I just rebuilt my 451 and tried to turn it over, but the fuel is going the wrong direction? (Up Not Down) I havn't hooked up the coil yet, just turned it over with the fuel pump hooked up. I have read that the carb floats could be stuck. Any suggestions?

Could be crap between the needle and seat. pretty common to get a little sliver from the fuel hose caught up in there.

Does any one think this is a timing problem?

Can you clarify that the fuel is coming out of carb vents, or if the carb is spitting back through throat?

The fuel was coming out of the primarys and secondarys. I closed my choke and it came out the vent.

Before it came out the vent it looked like it was boiling, but there was allot of fuel coming out.

give the carb a couple taps with a hammer, needle is stuck open....or they arent set right....or you have too much fuel pressure

I know I don't have to much pressure, I used the same fuel pump on this engine with heads that didn't flow anything like the 906's I ported and polished.

I'm ripping the carb off and rebuilding it. It was sitting for a while.
