Hey all,

I've got an LD4B intake and a Performer 600 cfm planned for the '71 Dart GT (318, console shifted A904, 3.23:1 sure-grip 8 3/4", MP orange ecu, FlowMaster 40s with 2 1/4" pipes on factory maifolds).

I need some guidance as far as the carb gasket/spacer. I've found 3 choices:
1. Edelbrock EDL-9265 which is .325" thick open
2. Edelbrock EDL-9266 which is .325" thick divided plenum
3. Edelbrock EDL-9267 which is .125" thick 4-hole
Which would you suggest and why?

Which intake manifold gaskets should I use?

Will I need any of the following?
1. Edelbrock EDL-8007 Throttle Lever Stud
2. Edelbrock EDL-8021 Throttle Cable Bracket

I know the "kickdown" linkage needs to hooked up before the vehicle is driven. I know Lokar and Bouchillon make a cable to perform this function, but has anyone ever modified an existing 2-bbl linkage to work? If so how (photos/details)?

I've not spun a wrench (if I can find them) in nearly 20 years, so this is a major operation for me. Any guidance is extremely appreciated.

Get the 9266 gasket, you will need the 8021 bracket and get composite intake gaskets for a 360, if you ask for 318 gaskets they give you steel gaskets for an iron intake.

For the kickdown you need the upper rod extended an inch or so to make it work,It's not a big deal if you can weld or know someone that can- just have to cut it in the middle and add a 1" piece of similar sized steel.

You may need to rework the throttle cable bracket to move the throttle cable forward also.
If you can find a 80's 360 Van they had an adaptor on the throttle bracket to move the cable forward.

Also, Make sure to know if you need the narrow width spacer. In the posted Pic of the one packaged, one, you can see the 8 sets of holes in the gasket. The LD4B I have uses the inside set of holes. Not the wide set.

I used the standard steel gaskets on my LD4B. Didnt use the composite. Never Had a problem.

if the LD4B is a dual plane w the center divider use the 9266 and I'd use composition intake gaskets or the steel ones w Permatex spray "high tack" the red stuff.

The Permatex Copper spray is good stuff too. I always use that on intake gaskets.
