The original carb on 70 Challenger has been rebuilt but is worn out and corroded from crappy gas. I am trying to decide whether it would be best to:

Buy a later style carb that would fit the intake (I am not changing the intake due to a/c and fresh paint).

Buy a new carb of the same style of a supplier on E-bay. They say these are new carbs, not rebuilt.

Get a remanufactured unit that has been bushed and updated to run on todays fuel. (I will not ever put Ethanol in the car again).

Rebuild another old carb off another car that is in better shape.

Please let me know any good replacement ideas. I'm open and I'm looking for reliability over price.

(1) new carb-good idea (2) reman-bad idea (3) rebuild one def worth trying. You might be able to use an eddy strip kit rods/jets in the 2bbl just get the kit w the rods/jets diameters close to the ones in your particular 2bbl

get the new one. each time I try a rebuild, on anything but a holley, I find I am just out the rebuild kit money.
The BBD is not a very good carb imo. If you can find one that fits your intake, linkages etc, I would probably go that route.

I bought a rebuilt one a few years ago and never had a problem. Plus it came with a decent warrenty. Depending on how much you can get one for and how easy to find it go that route if you are sticking with the same carb.
