I have had the car in storage for a few years and the tank is rotted out. I will be replacing the tank and wanted to get some tips/input. Looking at getting a tank from Rock Auto, which sounds like are the good Spectra tanks. Tank comes with a lock ring kit.

While i'm doing this is there any other parts i should be replacing? Sending unit seems fine as the gauge reads accurate. Any other seals/gaskets i need to pick up? Fuel lines??

Also, the car has the factory undercoating on the current tank. Whats the best way to replicate this? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Tar paper works excellent between tank and trunk. May need straps and new strap hangers.

You will probably want to clean and reuse the original lock ring from the old tank. The new ones are often really flimsy and seal poorly.
