What are you guys doing to maximize holding power on the line with rear drums?Does going to the long shoe front and rear make a noticeable difference? Are forklift linings still the ticket?

What size rear drums are you using now? If a B, E or C body rear end (non A body)you can get and use three x eleven inch on the back, that size with the super soft shoes will hold quite a bit. The other thing is to go to the gym and work on pumping up the left leg muscles

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Interesting...I hear ya about having someone else try it first, lol.I'm hoping to get good results with just shoes only, and not have to change wheel cylinders and such. The car has always held well, but recent changes have me footfeeding at 3,800,and it crept forward last weekend, costing me a round.

Cab,they are 2.5 x 11.So I can use 3" huh?I'm sure that would help. And I actually go to the gym from time to time, but there's only so much a 150 lb. guy can do!

You want to get shoes that have organic material on them. not metallic or ceramic.
They grip better but don't last as long as the others.

Whatever shoe you get, buy 2 sets and use the primary shoe (the longer one) on both sides. Believe it or not, that gained me another 400 RPM on the converter in a 3200# E-body with a sticky 14x32 tire...

Jeff....Both of our Darts have 3x11 Station Wagon brakes....The Hairy Canary has them too....They hold VERY well for us when we dont use a 2 step or transbrake. Nothing Special just left over Demo Derby car stuff....
